Provide health promotion by identifying and advising on achievable interventions with the screening subject on risk reduction strategies such as smoking cessation, initiation of/ compliance with secondary prophylaxis with Best Medical Therapy, compliance with any other medication they are on. Promotion of healthy lifestyle, exercise and diet. Check BP and BMI of subjects on F2F clinical reviews.
To scan surveillance subjects. If not already trained will need to undertake the Level 3 Health Screener Diploma (HSD) and maintain competencies.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential
- RSCN/RN 1st level with current NMC registration
- Teaching/Assessing/Mentorship Course Clinically competent (within speciality)
Desirable
- 1st Level degree or evidence of study at this level
- Advanced Vascular Nurse qualification or willingness to undertake this training
Knowledge, Training & Experience

- Demonstrates significant experience at Band 5 or above ideally within Vascular Surgery
- Significant experience in caring for people with abdominal aortic aneurysms
- Evidence of recent study and professional development
