We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist, to join our established Band 6...
This role forms part of the band 6 neuro OT rotation. Rotations are usually 9 months long but this depends on service need.
The post holder is required to provide specialist clinical assessment, treatment and advice to support the management of a complex neurological caseload. Interventions include specialist cognitive and perceptual assessment; tone and spasticity assessment and management (including casting and splinting), specialist seating and complex discharge & rehabilitation planning. Early OT interventions often focus on reducing secondary complications associated with acute admissions (e.g. early mobilisation - reducing risk of chest infections; early tone assessment and management - reducing risk of contractures and long-term need for spasticity management).
The post holder is responsible for the daily management of their clinical caseload including prioritisation and allocation to junior and/or support staff. The clinical effectiveness of the service is monitored through recognised performance service metrics (SNNAP/ NHS-E / UKROC data set and local Therapies Scorecard Activity data.)
The post holder also contributes to the delivery of the neurosciences 7-day therapy services and assists the Trust in meeting their objectives around patient flow and outstanding care every time.
Please see attached the job description for more details on the main responsibilities for this role.
