An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Respiratory Inreach team at University hospitals Plymouth. This full time post is at band 6. The succes...
- Provide specialist patient focused advice and support to inpatients within case load.
- Support, ward staff and medical teams to identify and facilitate enhanced / supported discharge planning throughout the Trust.
- The post holder will have involvement in co-ordination and organisation of individual treatment programmes throughout the illness trajectory and work to develop communication across divisional and organisational boundaries.
- Provide Clinical supervision to other staff.
- Provide specialist advice, psychological support and education to patients, carers and health care professionals with regards to Respiratory care.
- Support the education and training of medical, nursing and allied health professionals as required.
- Carries out specialist respiratory recommendations and management plans.
- Works autonomously throughout the Trust supporting the Line manager in the development of the Inreach service according to need.
- Support audit and research projects and aid the development of policies and procedures as required.
- Contribute to resource management using and allocating resources and equipment responsibly.
- May undertake research, clinical audits in own specialist area.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable post registration experience.
- Demonstrable postgraduate experience working in a clinical area where the post-holder will have had frequent contact with respiratory patients.
- Demonstrable postgraduate experience in a broad variety of clinical settings.
- An awareness of current NHS and Health issues
- Good communication, organisational and time management skills
Desirable
- Demonstrable Counselling experience or qualification.
Qualifications
Essential
- NMC Registration
- Proven evidence of CPD
Desirable
- Degree in Nursing/Health studies
- Non-medical Prescriber
- COPD and Asthma course or willingness to do.
- Demonstrable experience
Aptitude & Abilities
Essential
- Advanced Respiratory skills.
- Advanced communication skills
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Demonstrable Experience supervising more junior staff
- Proven ability to manage own caseload
- Excellent time management

- Teaching skills
- Computer literate
