To deliver a complex and high-quality evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service to Gastroenterology and Hepatology patients.
To provide a skilled service to Gastroenterology and Hepatology inpatients and outpatients.
To have a high level of knowledge, skills and experience to approach tasks with an open and understanding mind and deal with situations in a timely and empathic manner.
To be responsible for nutrition and dietetic participation in multi-professional groups and contribute to policy making as directed by the head of service
May be required to deliver a service in different locations.
RCHT is working towards seven-day service delivery and the post holder may be required to work on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Knowledge
Essential
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian
- A teaching qualification or experience of teaching groups
Experience
Essential
- Post registration dietetic experience including at least 2 years experience of delivering services in an acute hospital
- Experience of working within a specialist area of nutrition and dietetics. Ideally this should include some evidence of working with gastroenterology patients, but could demonstrate an acute clinical back-ground.
- Experience managing tube fed patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting
- Ability to use time management, communication and/or team working skills effectively
- Evidence of an accurate and up to date portfolio in order to demonstrate Continued Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning.
- Demonstrate the use of evidence based practice
- Competently demonstrate experience of "best dietetic practice" in a range of clinical conditions including gastroenterology conditions.
- Varied and comprehensive clinical experience in order to demonstrate the ability to deliver best practice for a range of more complex conditions
- Experience of working in a confidential manner
- Evidence of active participation in audit activities in dietetic practice
