This is an environment where you’ll grow, develop and feel genuinely valued.Main ResponsibilitiesYou'll:Assess the needs of children and young people, identifying risk and deciding what support or protection is requiredWork closely with partners to share information and make safe shared decisionsUse your professional curiosity, decision-making skills and understanding of thresholds to ensure children’s safetyManage your own caseload with the support of a Team Manager, developing increased autonomy as you progressMaintain high-quality, timely and accurate case recordsContribute to service improvement by sharing best practice, ideas and learningProvide guidance to student social workers and apprentices.The Ideal CandidateYou will need:A recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registrationExperience of working in children’s social careStrong assessment, analytical and communication skillsConfidence working with partner agencies in a multi-agency environmentCommitment to safeguarding, equality, and strengths-based practiceA passion for making a difference—right from the first conversation with a familyIf you’re an experienced practitioner, you’ll find opportunities to grow, stretch and develop your expertise within our whole-system model.Interviews will be held week commencing: 21st september 2026For an informal chat about the role please contact: sfifd.managers@staffordshire.gov.uk For information, please note that there is currently an ongoing review within Children and Families to realign individual teams and the wider team’s ways of working.
