Job description
To be work in a support role including senior level administrative support to the Sleep & CPAP Service within Clinical Measurement Unit.
To provide clinical support to the Sleep & CPAP service within Clinical Measurement Unit including a receptionist service to patients attending the Clinical Measurement Unit and maintaining communication with patients via telephone and email. The role requires management of appointment bookings in a co-ordination role. The role also includes aspects of clinical support such as downloading data from sleep monitors and cleaning/prepping monitors for reissue to patients, issuing CPAP consumables and monitoring and maintaining stock levels of CPAP consumables and stationery.

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE English and Maths (minimum grade 4 / C or equivalent)

- Administration qualification
Experience
Essential
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment in an administration role.
- Experience of using patient administration systems and/or databases.
- Awareness of sleep / CPAP within the Respiratory Physiology department.
Skills & Competencies
Essential
- Able to demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment within the workplace.
- Displays a calm, confident and approachable demeanour acting as first point of contact to patients and other visitors to the department.
- Uses knowledge of service and judgement to efficiently resolve patient queries, including knowing when to escalate to senior staff.
Desirable
- Able to co-ordinate and book diagnostic appointments in line with nationally agreed timescales.
- Able to take accurate notes and record outcomes of clinical MDT meetings.
Flexibility
Essential
- Able to work flexibility across Walsall NHS sites and within Clinical Support Services Care Group to support service needs.
