Job overview An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse post on Ribblesdale ward which is a 32 bedded rehabilitation ward, primarily taking patients with rehabilitation needs, with nursing ratio of 1-8 on the day shift and 1-10 on the night shift. Shift times are 7:30- 20:00 or 19:30 - 08:00. As the only dedicated rehabilitation unit in ELHT we care for patients recovering from elective and emergency surgeries and medical rehabilitation needs. We are also an area of choice for end of life care and complex discharges. You will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the rehabilitation planning, discharge planning and multi agency/ disciplinary working to enable our patients the very best of care. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care within the ward. They must be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have a passion for improving the patient and relative experience in addition to having a sound clinical knowledge base. They will possess well developed communication skills that will be used to engage, inspire and motivate both staff and patients in the clinical area. Good time management skills are essential, as is the ability to priorities your workload This is a role which will enable you to enhance your existing managerial and leadership skills and you will receive support from the senior nursing team within the Family Community Care Group.
