Job description
- *Internal Applicants Only** Oakdale Ward is a 30 bedded ward, which provides care for patients with endocrine, general medicine oncology and haematol...
To support and work with junior and senior colleagues to provide the best quality safest care on the ward.
You will be expected to carry out leadership tasks such as return to work interviews, sickness monitoring, new starter paperwork and shift management.
To take charge of the clinical area, dealing with & escalating any concerns with regards to staff or patient safety
To take responsibility for the assessments of the care needs; the development, implementation and evaluation of care to ensure the highest possible standards of care are received by patients.
To supervise and teach other nursing and non-nursing staff, acting as an excellent clinical role model and team leader to ensure quality care is delivered to the patients.
The applicant should have the ability to work independently and within a team, with patient experience at the heart of their delivery of care . When in charge the expectation is to lead, support and motivate your team to ensure high quality care is delivered. As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will need to line manage a team of health care professionals and deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.

Criteria
Essential
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.
- Experience working as a senior staff nurse
- Appropriate clinical experience in acute medical nursing
- Supervisory experience
Desirable
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Teaching qualification ENB 998 or equivalent
- Foundation management/leadership training
