Lead a team and help people build a better future

We’re looking for an experienced and committed Senior Support Worker to manage an accommodation-based housing support service for homeless ex-offenders in Birmingham.

You’ll lead and develop a team of four Support Workers, alongside bank staff, delivering person-centred support to help people resettle in the community, make positive life choices and reduce reoffending.

Working closely with local authorities, statutory agencies and external partners, you’ll help customers access the support they need to build independent, fulfilling lives and contribute to safer communities.

You’ll also oversee housing management responsibilities, including rent income, health and safety, fire risk reviews and accurate record keeping. Reporting to the Scheme Manager, you’ll support performance reporting, attend external meetings and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

You’ll have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs, including offending, homelessness, mental health or substance misuse, alongside at least one year of management or senior-level experience.

  • Experience managing support needs and assessing risks
  • Strong leadership, team development and communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets and analysing financial performance
  • The ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and external partners
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office to produce reports, spreadsheets and presentations
  • A commitment to safeguarding, health and safety and continuous improvement
  • A flexible, results-focused approach to delivering positive outcomes

You’ll need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. A DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

  • £30,000 annual salary plus on-call payments
  • Defined contribution pension, with employer matching up to 6%
  • 24/7 GP access and wellbeing support
  • Confidential Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
