We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to Join our team in ward 201 at The Cancer centre.

You must have a passion for oncology and haematology and be able to demonstrate good knowledge of Oncological and Haematological emergencies.

The possession of the SACT passport is essential.

The ideal candidate will have considerable clinical skills and be enthusiastic to develop their knowledge further to ensure a high standard of care is given to every patient in our care .

You must be familiar with the UKONS triage tool

Good understanding of effective patient flow with other emergency portals within the Trust

You will need to have excellent organisational skills and experience of leadership

We are looking for a self motivated nurse , who can work efficiently and effectively in a busy environment , you must be able to lead on change .

You will have excellent skills assessing patients and it would be an advantage to have recognised clinical leadership course.

You must work well within a team and be an excellent communicator.

Experience

Essential

  • Must Have experience working in an acute setting

Desirable

  • Have good knowledge of oncological/Haematological Emergencies
  • Knowledge of the Triage system and good understanding of the UKONS triage tool

Communication

Essential

  • Good knowledge of patient pathways

Desirable

  • Ability to make good decisions and set clear outcomes

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse on NMC Register

Desirable

  • Degree in Nursing or health/nursing related studies or evidence of continuing academic progression
  • Current SACT Passport and have an excellent understanding of chemotherapy administration.
  • Formal leadership and management training
