The Senior Peer Support Worker will use their own personal experiences of managing mental health and recovery, to provide hope, empathy and a differen...

  • use their personal experiences to promote hope and recovery in order to support others who are overcoming mental health challenges . Using peer values alongside practical assistance, they will work individually and in groups to support people to feel in control of their lives, choices and unique recovery process in line with their recovery plan.
  • be a key member of a small newly developing team of registered and peer support workers
  • work with the team to co-develop, review and when applicable co-deliver innovative evidence-based interventions.
  • will have supervisory responsibility of Peer Support Staff
  • liaise between primary, secondary and community organisations. To jointly work with stake holders to identify where consultation or training is required and coordinating or developing this.
  • act as a recovery champion within the team, and an ambassador for recovery for the Trust when working with external agencies and partner organisations.

be supported to continue their own personal and professional development as well as taking part in the ongoing development of peer roles in the Trust

Across Hampshire, our community hospitals provide inpatient rehabilitation as a step down from acute care, and our dedicated teams also staff Treetops Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Portsmouth, offering expert, compassionate support.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, or agreed equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of working with people
  • Excellent understanding of Peer Support
  • Commitment to undertaking continual personal development
