As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you'll use your leadership skills to ensure our residents get the quality care we're known for. Being a hands-on clinical leader, you'll create a safe and supportive environment for residents with a range of mental and physical needs. You'll rely on your professional judgement to make critical decisions, from assessing new resident needs to implementing safeguarding policies and overseeing medication administration as per NMC regulations. You'll also support and mentor your team, ensuring they receive necessary clinical training to deliver high-quality nursing care. This role grants you the autonomy to do things the right way and be valued for your contributions. To join us, you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration, a mentoring or supervision qualification, and experience in producing care plans and risk assessments. An understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines, is crucial.

As part of your wide range of responsibilities, you'll support and mentor your team to make sure they have the clinical training they need to deliver the highest standards of nursing. As a Senior Nurse (General), you'll have the freedom and autonomy to do things the right way and be truly valued and respected for what you do.

ABOUT YOUTo join us as a Senior Nurse (General), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. Experience of producing care plans and detailed risk assessments is important, as is an up-to-date knowledge on the most recent clinical practices. We'll also look for an understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. You'll be a natural leader and problem solver who has worked with older people and acted as a clinical mentor, including supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship. Dedicated, ambitious and resilient, you'll have a strong track record of delivering improvements to achieve quality care.
