The post holder will support the Systems Manager as well as other stakeholders for all aspects of the Trust Income System, Service Level Agreement Monitoring (SLAM). The post holder will need to demonstrate analytical skills, possess strong Structured Query Language (SQL) knowledge and be able to identify and fix any issues as they occur.
Working under the management of the Systems Manager, the main responsibilities of the post are as follows:
Develop reports and analysis using advanced business intelligence tool
Audit the activity information dataset to review the quality of information, addressing any data quality issues and making recommendations where improvement is necessary
Act as the Trust representative at appropriate meetings and forums, including contributing to discussions, making commitments to deliver work to agreed deadlines and ensuring that other team members are adequately informedManage complex information, with the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholder audiences including non-financial colleagues. Liaise and respond to a range of stakeholder finance and activity queries.
Cover for other members of the Income team, where appropriate.Provide training and support to CIVICA SLAM users, to ensure system competence.

Qualifications and knowledge

- Educated to a degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience working at a similar level in a specialist area
Experience

- Experience of using Secondary Uses Service (SUS)/Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) Acute datasets
- Acute NHS informatics experience
- Acute NHS income reporting experience
- Acute NHS Contracts experience
Desirable
- Proven experience working within the National Health Service (NHS) financial environment
- Knowledge of the NHS National Tariff
- Implementation of an Acute NHS planning / contracting round

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge and skills of all Microsoft Office products, Structured Query Language (SQL) Server Management Studios, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
- Excellent Excel skills
- Knowledge of CIVICA SLAM

- Able to analyse and interpret highly complex information and financial data to assess issues and anticipate problems and provide workable solutions
