Working as a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be involved with direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients. You will be working alongside a Registered Nurse to provide a high level of care whilst caring out the following roles:
- supporting children and their families
- assisting with the checking of equipment in the department
- perform height and weights and record accurately
- perform observations and escalate any concerns to a registered member of staff
- provide distraction during phlebotomy
- support the clinician to ensure their clinics run smoothly
- welcome people to the department and answer the telephone to ensure seamless running of the department

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare or equivalent experience together with a Level 2 qualification
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English, GCSE or equivalent
- One of the following: Level 3 (SCQF - 6): - City and Guilds 3, NVQ 3, BTEC National Diploma, Experience equivalent to the above qualifications Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent
Work Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within a team
- Experience of working as a healthcare assistant
Desirable
- Experience of working within paediatrics
Knowledge and Experience

- Understand the need for strict confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
