The successful candidate will have a passion for improving the lives of young people with a learning disability, and would ideally, but not essentially, have experience of working within this field. The successful candidate would also show excellent communication skills and the ability to engage young people and children in activities. Previous experience of working with young people, children and their families is desirable.

You will be working as part of a well-established multidisciplinary team of highly experience practitioners. You will have opportunities to develop specialist skills in observations, assessment and care plans, as well as working with the wider system to support families and young people.

Qualifications

Essential: - *GCSE in Maths and English at grade A -- C/4-9 or alternatively Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 2; - *NVQ Level 3 (Diploma)

Experience

  • *Work without direct supervision
  • *Practical experience in a health care setting
  • *Experience of working with people with learning disabilities / SEND
  • *Experience of working independently in community healthcare setting
  • *Experience working as part of a team
  • *Experience of analysing and communicating complex information verbally and in writing
  • *Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • *Risk Management
  • *Knowledge of local health needs strategies, local policies and procedures including safeguarding
  • *Commits to maintaining personal development and meeting requirements of revalidation
  • *Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
  • *Knowledge of National agendas and the effect on practice
