This is an exciting opportunity for a
dental nurse looking for something a little different to a regular dental
practice. As a Senior Dental Nurse, you will provide visible leadership and
support to the dental team, working closely with the Dental Operations Manager,
Clinical Lead, Operational Specialists and Senior Dental Nurses to ensure safe,
effective and efficient service delivery. You will be involved with
supporting staff performance, clinical governance activity, quality assurance
processes and patient experience initiatives, whilst maintaining a strong
clinical understanding of urgent dental care.
Working within urgent dental care can
be fast-paced and unpredictable, so you will be comfortable managing competing
priorities, remaining calm under pressure and supporting others through
challenging situations.
role includes a clinical nursing element, providing one nursing session every
two weeks as part of the contracted hours. This ensures continued understanding
of service delivery, patient needs and building of good relationships and
support with our team.
A caring and compassionate personality is extremely important, confident in speaking to patients, and able to work in a busy and sometimes challenging environment, remain calm under pressure. Fully supported by our experience Dental Nurse Supervisors. Able to have fun and develop good relationships with the team.
Provide visible leadership and day-to-day operational support to
the Morecambe dental service, promoting a positive, professional and
patient-focused culture.
Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and wider dental
leadership team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of services.
Lead on recruitment, induction, training, supervision and
development of staff, including conducting appraisals, one-to-one meetings and
performance support conversations where required. Promoting teamwork,
engagement, wellbeing and professional standards.
Managing safeguarding concerns in line with organisational
policies, ensuring appropriate escalation and documentation where required. To
work closely with the safeguarding lead and external stakeholders.
Support patients in accessing appropriate services where required.
Lead and support infection prevention and control processes,
ensuring compliance with HTM 01-05, CQC regulations and local governance
Support quality assurance activities including audits, action
plans, local policy reviews and service improvement.
Contribute to clinical governance, incident reporting,
investigations and organisational learning, promoting a culture of openness,
safety and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal
teams, local dental practices, referral services, Internal and external
stakeholders to support patient pathways and service delivery.
Facilitate regular team meetings, communications and engagement
activities to ensure staff remain informed, supported and involved in service
developments.
Maintain compliance with all mandatory training, professional
registration requirements and organisational policies.
Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the
responsibilities and objectives of the post

Experience
Essential: - Knowledge on decontamination compliance, audit processes
Desirable: - Staff management or supervisory experience, preferably within a dental setting.; - Dentally software.
Qualifications
Essential: - NVQ L3 or equivalent in Dental Nursing.; - GDC registered Dental Nurse
Desirable: - Radiography
