You will provide expert clinical supervision, consultation and leadership to Supervisors and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners across Dorset MHSTs, promoting high-quality, evidence-based and child-centred practice. Through coaching, mentoring and reflective supervision, you will support colleagues to confidently manage clinical complexity, safeguarding concerns, risk and multi-agency working.
Alongside a small clinical caseload, you will deliver specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families with more complex mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to improve outcomes and ensure support is responsive and effective.
As a senior member of the service, you will contribute to quality improvement, service development and clinical governance activities, using research, outcome data and innovation to strengthen practice. You will be a positive role model, helping to develop a skilled, confident workforce and promoting a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Essential
- Registered mental health professional with current registration with HCPC, NMC, Social Work England, BPS, BABCP, BACP, UKCP, ACP-UK or equivalent professional body.
- Significant experience working therapeutically with children, young people and families experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Experience delivering recognised evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people, including a strong understanding of Low Intensity CBT interventions.
- Substantial experience providing clinical supervision, including Case Management Supervision and Clinical Skills Supervision.
- Experience supporting and developing practitioners who supervise others.
- Experience working with clinical complexity, safeguarding, risk assessment and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, attachment-aware and child-centred practice.
- Experience of multi-agency partnership working across health, education, social care and voluntary sector services.
- Excellent communication, consultation, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Experience using outcome measures, audit, quality improvement and service evaluation to inform practice.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to work independently while building strong collaborative relationships across teams and organisations.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Ability to drive, access to a car and ability to travel across Dorset to meet service requirements.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Low Intensity CBT, High Intensity CBT or a relevant therapeutic modality.
- Additional specialist training in trauma, attachment and systemic approaches.
- Experience working within a Mental Health Support Team (MHST).
- Experience facilitating reflective practice groups.
- Experience supporting supervisors in training or newly qualified supervisors.
- Experience contributing to clinical pathway development, supervisory practice development and wider service innovation.
- Experience managing resources and contributing to workforce development, recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Advanced skills in data analysis, reporting and using outcome data to drive service improvement.
