Your duties will include collaborating closely with the Urology, Thoracic and ICU providing specialist advice to optimise patient care. You will use your non-medical prescribing skills in both the inpatient and outpatient setting to optimise the prescribing of specialist and supportive care medications.
The successful candidate will be joining the largest and most prestigious thoracic & urology department in the UK. We are a highly specialist team, seeing referrals from across the country and internationally. As a centre for excellence and research, you will have an opportunity to contribute to service development and quality improvement projects within urology and thoracic surgery teams.
Additional management and leadership responsibilities for the Surgical Specialties Division include governance, medicines expenditure analysis and reporting, audit and service evaluation, multi-professional education and training, and other strategic projects as required. You will also represent the UCLH Pharmacy Department at directorate and divisional clinical governance meetings

Qualifications, knowledge & competence
Essential
- Masters of Pharmacy degree or equivalent
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Minimum of five years' experience as a dedicated clinical pharmacist practitioner Substantial post-registration experience
- Experience of clinical service provision to acute surgical patients
- Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in General Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy
- Registered Independent Prescriber
- Meets expected levels of practice as defined by others
- Maintains a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice
Desirable
- Delivery of clinical pharmacy services to acute surgical patients in the outpatient setting Experience of clinical service provision to level 2 and/or 3 patients
- Identifies best practice
- Undertaken leadership and/or management training courses
