- To provide comprehensive, accurate and timely information for CAVUHB and other relevant bodies through the process of Clinical Coding.
- To code complex specialities and episodes of care.
- The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a small team of coders, ensuring that Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets are consistently achieved and to identify any training needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential
- Accredited Clinical Coder
- Good general standard of education
Skills and Attributes
Essential
- Ability to communicate with colleagues across all levels including Multi-Disciplinary Teams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a number of competing demands
- Good inter-personal skills with the ability to motivate and influence a range of professionals
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and performance targets.
- Computer literate with ability to use MS office suites including Microsoft Teams
- Evidence of supporting junior staff
Desirable
- Ability to assist with Clinical Coding Audit

Essential
- Able to travel to Trust sites as required
Experience
Essential
- 1 year of experience post ACC or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years NHS experience
- Experience of working to targets and Key Performance Indicators
- Experience of using Medicode 360 or equivalent encoder
- Experience coding a wide range of specialities to a high degree of accuracy without close supervision
- Mentoring experience
Desirable
- Supervisory Experience
Specialist Knowledge

- Knowledge of the purposes of clinical coding
- Awareness of importance of patient confidentiality
- Extensive knowledge of Anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
- Knowledge of national coding standards
