Job description

We are looking for Senior Clinic Assistants to join our team! You will support the delivery of high quality and efficient outpatients service to the 0...

  • To prepare children to see the clinician by undertaking growth monitoring observations, including height, weight and blood pressure and support the clinician during clinic as appropriate.
  • To arrange and hold independent clinics for children who need regular reviews of height, weight and blood pressure.
  • To support the On-call clinical team with any Child Protection medicals.
  • The role combines a range of clinical and administrative tasks.
  • To understand a range of communication styles that can support the needs and preferences of the children, young people and their families.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent skills or experience
  • Willing to attend/complete Level 3 Safeguarding training and required updates

Desirable

  • Level 3 Safeguarding training

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Experience of working with children and young people.
  • Experience of working as part of a team, with ability to work both autonomously and under direction as an effective member of the multi professional team
  • Awareness of child protection policies and procedures
  • Ability to efficiently use IT packages including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and EMIS
  • Ability to communicate and relate effectively with children, young people, adults and colleagues using a variety of communication systems

Desirable

  • Experience working in a health care environment.
  • Experience of supporting colleagues
