Senior Carer - Residential Care Home - Bank

As a Bank Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you will be responsible for looking after the varying needs of our residents, enabling the delivery of quality, person-centred care and support. Your role includes leading a team of care staff, training, supervising, and delegating duties during shifts. You will also manage medication administration and orders, review and update resident care plans and risk assessments, and communicate with GPs, district nursing teams, and resident families. Respecting the dignity and preferences of residents is crucial, as is contributing to a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment. Candidates must have NVQ Level 3 or an Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, prior experience in a residential care setting, and proven team leadership skills. The role offers career development opportunities, including progressing to roles like Care Practitioner, Care Community Lead, or entering nursing pathways.

You will be responsible for leading a team of care staff, which will include training, supervisions and delegating duties on shift. You will also support with the administering and ordering of medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessment, and liaising with GP's, district nursing teams and resident family members. Like everyone here, as a Residential Senior Care Assistant, you'll always respect the dignity and preferences of our residents as well playing your own part in creating an environment that's warm, welcoming and vibrant.

The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Residential Senior Care Assistant. You will have previous experience in a residential care setting along with proven team leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support the needs and wellbeing of our Residents. We're looking for people who are warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to giving each resident individualised care and support. You'll have the opportunity to develop your career through ongoing training opportunities, so there's no limit to how far you can go with us. Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioners, Care Community Leads or on to nursing pathways.

As this is a Bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.
