Senior Care Assistant - Care Home

As a Senior Care Assistant at a Barchester care home, you will be responsible for looking after the various needs of residents to ensure the delivery of quality, person-centred care. This role involves supervising and inspiring a team of Care Assistants alongside the Deputy General Manager, as well as supporting the clinical team in areas such as medication, assessments, and care plans. Respecting the dignity and preferences of residents is crucial, as is creating a warm and welcoming environment. The role requires an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, alongside specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly. Opportunities for career progression are available through ongoing training, and many Senior Care Assistants advance into roles such as Care Practitioner, Regional Carer, or nursing positions. ABOUT YOU You should have an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Senior Care Assistant. We'll also need to see that you have specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly. We're looking for people who are warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to giving each resident individualised care and support. You'll have the opportunity to develop your career through ongoing training opportunities, so there's no limit to how far you can go with us. Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioner, Regional Carer or nursing roles.
