School Nurse

North East LondonFull Time | Term Time + Additional Days (if required)Competitive Salary We are recruiting for a unique opportunity within a specialist education setting in North East London, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. This role would suit an experienced NMC Registered Nurse with a strong background in SEND, complex care, safeguarding, and child health, who is looking to make a meaningful impact within a school environment. The Role As the lead medical professional on site, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of pupil health and wellbeing, ensuring that medical needs are safely and effectively supported throughout the school day. Working closely with senior leaders, safeguarding staff, families, health professionals and external agencies, you will play a key role in promoting the welfare, safety and inclusion of pupils with additional and complex needs. Key Responsibilities

Act as the lead clinician and first point of contact for medical matters across the schoolProvide first aid, emergency response and ongoing health support to pupils and staffDevelop, implement and review individual healthcare and care plansSupport pupils with complex medical conditions, disabilities and long-term health needsSafely manage and administer medication in line with policy and legislationMaintain accurate clinical records and medical documentationLiaise with parents, community healthcare teams and school nursing servicesSupport safeguarding processes and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetingsOversee medical supplies, equipment, audits and compliance requirementsProvide guidance and support to staff regarding pupil health needs Essential Requirements

Registered Nurse with current NMC registrationPrevious experience working with children and young people with SENDExperience supporting individuals with complex care needsStrong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education or healthcare settingsExperience creating and managing healthcare plans and risk assessmentsExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively with the wider teamConfident in managing medical emergencies and prioritising workload Desirable

Experience working within a school, specialist education setting or children's servicePaediatric nursing experienceKnowledge of relevant SEND legislation and education-based healthcare provision Why Apply?
