Job description

Join a practice where there is time to do the job properly. We're looking for a 4-6 session Salaried GP to join our team at Wem and Prees Medical Prac...

We are seeking a 4-6 session Salaried GP to provide NHS Primary Medical Services to our patients.

The role includes the full range of duties expected of a GP, including clinical sessions, home visits, medical examinations and other day-to-day clinical responsibilities.

We recognise that starting a new role can be a significant step, and we are committed to providing the support needed to help you settle into the practice.

Our salaried GP team is led by a dedicated GP Partner, and you will benefit from regular one-to-one meetings, mentorship and structured support throughout your probationary period to ensure a smooth transition.

Following an initial settling-in period, there will be a shared commitment to the practice duty doctor rota. This responsibility is distributed fairly amongst the doctors, regularly reviewed and supported by an experienced Duty Receptionist team. Our duty system works well, supporting new ways of working while maintaining safe, effective patient care.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, values continuity of care and is committed to providing high quality patient care.

You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative practice where colleagues are approachable, new ideas are welcomed and everyone contributes to the continued development of the service.

If you would like to have an informal conversation or arrange a practice visit, please contact Caroline Morris, Managing Partner, by email caroline.morris22@nhs.net or 01939 238051

Wem and Prees Medical Practice serves just over 12,000 patients across our surgeries in Wem and Prees, North Shropshire.

We're proud to be a stable, well-established practice with a strong team ethos. Many of our staff have worked here for a number of years, creating a supportive environment where colleagues know each other well and work together to deliver high-quality patient care.

We are committed to developing and retaining our clinicians for the long term. Several of our current Salaried GPs joined us early in their careers and have become valued members of the team. Where partnership opportunities arise, we look to our Salaried GPs in the first instance, providing a potential pathway for those interested in future leadership and practice ownership.

Whether you are an experienced GP or looking for your first role after CCT, you will be joining a practice that invests in its people and supports their development.

  • Competitive salary of £11,500 per session

  • 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Additional day's leave on your birthday
