If you are looking for a supportive GP practice, a friendly team and a rewarding salaried role, we would love to hear from you....
The Salaried General Practitioner will provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary medical care within a multidisciplinary general practice setting. The post-holder will independently assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring that care is delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with professional standards, evidence-based clinical practice and the requirements of the General Medical Services (GMS) contract and administrative tasks associated with General practice and patient care outside GMS.
The post-holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, accessible and equitable healthcare services, working collaboratively with colleagues across the practice and wider primary care network.
The post-holder will work across the practice's five designated surgery sites:
- Ravenscourt Surgery Tynewydd Road, Barry

Due to the cross-site infrastructure, clinical schedules and sessions may alternate across these locations to support equitable care delivery across Barry and the surrounding Vale area.
- Clinical Care: Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations to assess, diagnose, and treat acute or chronic undifferentiated illnesses.
- Patient Management: Refer patients to secondary care or community services as appropriate, managing caseload admissions and discharges.
- Prescribing: Issue computer-generated prescriptions in line with the local Practice formulary and evidence-based regulations.
- Admin & Governance: Complete contemporaneous, accurate clinical notes, process hospital correspondence, and contribute to Practice quality improvement audits and other administrative tasks associated with General Practice.
