The successful candidate will join our happy and supportive team as a Salaried GP working 4-6 sessions per week, with clinical responsibilities delivered through a combination of telephone and face-to-face consultations.
Responsibilities will include
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Low level of home visits
- Reviewing, authorising, and signing prescriptions.
- Participating in the practice duty clinic on a shared rota.
- Managing patient queries, clinical correspondence, referrals, results, and associated paperwork.
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred services and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice.
The successful candidate will be appointed on a Salaried GP contract with an agreed job plan.
This is a flexible and varied clinical role comprising a combination of telephone consultations and face-to-face appointments, supported by a structured workload and the wider practice team.
In accordance with the practice timetable, the GP will undertake a range of duties including:
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate.
- Reviewing, authorising, and signing prescriptions, including responding to medication queries.
- Managing patient correspondence, clinical paperwork, referrals, and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
- Reviewing and actioning blood results and incoming clinical documentation electronically.
- Making appropriate referrals for specialist assessment and following agreed referral pathways.
- Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous consultation records, including appropriate coding to support QOF and clinical governance requirements.
The practice operates a shared Duty Doctor rota, requiring each GP to participate approximately one day per week, with additional cover occasionally required during periods of colleague absence such as annual leave.
Professional Standards and Practice Requirements
The post holder will be expected to
- Work within current local policy for prescribing.
- Action pathology results, prescriptions, and referrals promptly.
- Adhere to the practice staff handbook, policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with information governance requirements, including smartcard security and data protection regulations.
- Follow practice protocols and clinical guidance stored on the shared systems.
- Work collaboratively with the practice team to support achievement of QOF targets
- Contribute positively to the continued success and reputation of the practice by providing high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centred care.

to keep up with the ever changing demands put on us while still maintaining our
traditional values and providing good access to our patients.

to our patients while providing a good working environment.
We have a low turnover of staff which is a reflection of the
strong and happy team.
We are consistently at or very near to the top of the GP

We are one of the oldest training practices in the county and
there could be the opportunity to get involved in training if desired.
Four out of the five partners trained here and moved back as
partners as vacancies became available.

schemes and , as a training practice, can offer support.

You will be supported by a number of other clinical staff including 5 supportive GP Partners, a pharmacist, podiatrist, physiotherapist, ANPs and Practice Nurses as well as our highly skilled administrative staff and outstanding Practice Manager.
