Salaried GP

• One full day per week as Duty Doctor, providing on-call clinical cover during core practice hours of 8:00am6.30pm.
• A further two GP sessions per week, which can be worked as either morning or afternoon sessions, with flexibility to agree the most suitable arrangement with the practice.

• Undertake the Duty Doctor/on-call role for one full day per week, managing urgent clinical queries, same-day presentations and other clinical matters arising during core hours.
• Assess and manage patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provide appropriate diagnosis, treatment, investigation, referral and follow-up.
• Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with current guidance and practice policies.
• Provide appropriate clinical advice and support to patients, carers and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical records.
• Work collaboratively with the practice's multidisciplinary team and wider healthcare services.
• Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits, quality improvement and practice development activities as appropriate.
• Contribute to safeguarding, infection prevention and control, clinical governance and patient safety.
• Maintain professional knowledge and competence through appropriate continuing professional development.
• Work within GMC and NHS professional standards and relevant practice policies and procedures.
• Support a positive, respectful and collaborative working environment within the practice.

• Responding to urgent patient presentations and clinical queries.
• Assessing and managing same-day requests according to clinical need.
• Providing appropriate telephone and face-to-face consultations.
• Reviewing urgent test results and correspondence where required.
• Liaising with other members of the clinical team and external healthcare providers.
• Ensuring appropriate escalation or referral where clinically indicated.
• Maintaining safe and effective clinical decision-making throughout the duty period.

Essential

• Experience working as a GP in a primary care setting.
• Broad clinical experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions.
• Experience managing patients with multiple and complex health needs.
• Experience of appropriate referral, investigation and follow-up.
• Understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance, infection prevention and patient safety.
• Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

• Experience in developing or leading a clinical area of interest.
• Experience of quality improvement, audit or service development.

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
• Completion of UK GP Specialty Training or equivalent.

• Additional qualifications or training relevant to general practice.
• Experience or qualifications in a particular clinical area that would complement the practice.
