- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.

At Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery, we believe in providing excellent patient care while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for our team members. We are a semi-rural GMS practice dedicated to serving our 17,000 diverse patient population. We opened our branch surgery, Halstead Heights Clinic, on the Halstead Hospital site in mid-April 2026.
Halstead is a historic market town within Essex situated on the River Colne, which runs through its centre. It is home to a robust network of businesses supported by wider organisations, such as the Halstead & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce, which promote independent shops, pubs, restaurants, and other services. It is situated between between Chelmsford (19 miles) and Colchester (14 miles) with good transportation and road links.
We operate from a modern purpose-built premises and leverage SystmOne and AccuRx to enhance efficiency and patient experience. We are also proud to be an established teaching practice for both Chelmsford and Colchester training programmes, offering opportunities for mentorship and development.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic salaried GP who is passionate about delivering excellent primary care. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs. We value strong communication skills, a team-player attitude, an interest in continuous learning, a can-do attitude, and a patient-centred approach. All applicants should have the following qualifications and skills::
Essential
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (where appropriate)
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list
- Well-developed IT skills including SystmOne (desirable)
