We are looking for a salaried GP to join our team
at Plas Meddyg Surgery in the historic market town of Ruthin. We welcome
applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs.
We are a well-run, single-site dispensing practice
serving a growing population of just over 11,000 patients. As an established
training practice, we support GP registrars, medical students, paramedics,
nurses and nurse practitioners, with learning and mutual support embedded in
our everyday work.
Informal enquiries and visits
We welcome an informal conversation or practice
visit to discuss the role, your interests and your preferred working pattern.
Please send your CV and a supporting statement
outlining how you meet the essential and desirable criteria to Anna Parry at anna.parry2@wales.nhs.uk.
Applications close on 30th November 2026.
Shortlisting will be based on your CV and
supporting statement against the criteria above. Shortlisted candidates will be
invited to a structured interview with GP partners and the Practice Manager,
including discussion of a clinical scenario. There will also be an opportunity
to visit the surgery and meet the team.
Interviews are planned for the week commencing 7th
December 2026.
- Shared responsibility: Partners and salaried colleagues work alongside one another, sharing clinical workload and on-call duties, with ready access to advice and support.
- More time for clinical work: Our established workflows and experienced administrative team help clinicians focus on work that requires their expertise.
- Supported home visiting: A dedicated cluster ANP home-visiting team undertakes most visits, working closely with us and involving GPs when patients need more complex assessment or care.
- A practice open to change: We welcome ideas and continually improve how we work, using innovation to make care more effective and workloads more manageable.
- Rewarding community medicine: We provide GP-led care to an engaged population, with opportunities to support self-care and build meaningful clinical relationships. Our partners also provide medical cover at Ruthin Community Hospital, with access to community inpatient care for suitable patients who do not require acute admission.
We are a busy practice with high demand, but we take pride in consistently delivering high standards of care through teamwork, efficient systems and shared clinical responsibility.
Start date
Ideally 1st April 2027, with flexibility for the right candidate
