The successful

candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care through a range of

clinical and administrative responsibilities. This will include face-to-face

and telephone consultations, responding to patient queries, undertaking home

visits, reviewing and acting on investigation results and correspondence, and

completing clinical administration, including referrals. The GP will use

professional judgement to make safe and autonomous clinical decisions, while working collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as

agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety

Of duties including

Face to face and telephone consultations and

queries,

Visiting patients at home

Checking and authorising prescriptions

Reviewing clinical results and correspondence in a

timely fashion.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in

relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other

health care workers within the organisation

Assessing the health care needs of patients with

undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

Screening patients for disease risk factors and

early signs of illness

Developing care plans for health in consultation

with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols

Providing counselling and health education

Recording clear consultation notes to agreed

standards

Recording health data correctly to meet QOF and

enhanced service specifications

Collecting data for audit purposes

Compiling and issuing acute and

repeat prescriptions.

Prescribing in accordance with the practice

prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general, the post-holder will be expected to

undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a salaried

GP working within primary care.

Working with GP clinical system e.g. EMIS, AccuRx

and DOCMAN

Centre is a rural dispensing practice with a list size of 4200. Situated in the historic village of Hodnet,

North Shropshire, 15 miles north of Shrewsbury.

With good transport links to Birmingham and Manchester.

We have

traditional family GP values. Being a small

practice with a stable patient population we get to know our patients, often

many generations of the same family. We

operate from a modern building extended from an original grade two listed

building which adds to the character and charm of our Practice.

  • Experience of working in General Practice

Desirable

  • Experience of working with EMIS Web, Accurx and Docman

Qualifications

  • Current GMC registration
  • A recognised GP training scheme completed
