We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about safeguarding, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality support and advice to colleagues across the Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a varied and interesting role within a dedicated team, where no two days are the same.

The post holder will provide specialist safeguarding education, advice and guidance to both clinical and non clinical staff, supporting the Safeguarding Adults Lead and Named Professionals for Safeguarding in promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational safeguarding requirements.

The post holder is responsible for preparing detailed and comprehensive safeguarding reports, including those relating to Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, Domestic Homicide Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews, ensuring that all reports are accurate, evidence-based and completed to a high professional standard.

The role also provides ongoing support to the Safeguarding Adults Lead and other safeguarding professionals in managing complex safeguarding issues, contributing to the development of safeguarding practice across the organisation and helping to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services for adults at risk.

Education and Training

Essential

  • Registration on part 1 of the NMC register/or other professional body
  • Diploma or degree in relevant subject
  • Evidence of further and ongoing study at Masters level
  • Safeguarding Supervision qualification
  • Evidence of CPD

Desirable

  • Management qualification
  • Masters in relevant subject
  • Teaching qualification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of Care Act 2014 in relation to S42 enquiries
  • Knowledge of acts relating to safeguarding (e.g Mental Capacity, Domestic Abuse etc)
  • Demonstrate a wide range of knowledge in relation to safeguarding adults.
  • Knowledge of current professional, local and national policy issues in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbally
  • IT Literate
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent teaching skills

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or similar setting.
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Experience of multi agency working in relation to safeguarding

Desirable

  • Experience of other care settings
  • Experience of practice development
