  • Clinic Management: Running clinics independently, including opening/closing procedures, key distribution, health and safety, risk and waste management, and cleaning. Reporting incidents to the Operational Clinical Lead.
  • Equipment Liaison: Ensuring all necessary equipment is available for clinics by coordinating with relevant teams to support a positive patient experience.
  • Ensure pre-visit meeting or phone call is held 2 weeks prior to attending location to ensure smooth operational running and expectations of all stakeholders are delivered.
  • To act as a formal chaperone within the cervical screening clinics and where required essential Healthcare services.
  • Staying for the whole examination and be able to see what the practitioner is doing, if practical to do so.
  • Maintain patient safety and advocate for their privacy and dignity.
  • Reassuring the patient if they show any signs of distress or discomfort by providing emotional support.
  • Lead the setup and day-to-day management of Roving Healthcare Unit clinics, including opening/closing procedures, site safety, and vehicle checks.
  • Act as the onsite main point of contact for clinical staff, volunteers, and external partners, ensuring smooth coordination.
  • Oversee equipment preparation and ensure all essential items are available to support effective clinic delivery.

This role is a vital role

supporting the delivery of our innovative Roving Healthcare Units RHUs, which

provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities across the Midlands and supporting the Quality Team to ensure that we, as an organisation,

continue to meet the highest quality standards.

Due to the nature of this role, there is an occupational requirement for

the postholder to be female.

The postholder will act as a formal chaperone during cervical screening

examinations and will be required to remain present throughout intimate

examinations, supporting patient safety, privacy, dignity and wellbeing.

This requirement is made under the occupational requirement provisions

of the Equality Act 2010.

This role combines operational management with quality

compliance, ensuring that clinics

are effectively managed, meet all regulatory standards, and deliver excellent

Site Management

Professional Development

Participate in a structured induction programme, gaining a comprehensive

understanding of PCLs values and integrated working approach.

Complete all mandatory training, including safeguarding Level 3.

Engage in ongoing professional development to support

personal growth and career progression within PCL.

Chaperone

To act as a formal chaperone within

the cervical screening clinics and where required essential Healthcare services.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a service delivery environment as it directly impacts patients safety and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills including communication, and an understanding of basic terms and conditions of employment.
  • Experience of chaperoning in a medical setting.

Desirable

  • Experience of site management
  • Knowledge of NHS clinical systems outcomes for health and System one.
  • Understanding of service delivery in healthcare environments effectiveness, safety, efficiency, equity, and access.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full UK driving License Due to the driving requirements of this role, candidates will need to meet Specific insurance criteria as part of the pre-. employment. process.
  • Security Industry Authority SIA qualification and licence or
  • willing to work towards this.
  • Chaperone trained

Desirable

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of health service site & fleet management, including change management, quality, and governance.
  • Category C1 driving license.
  • First Aid trained or be willing to work towards this qualification.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good influencing, persuasion and negotiating skills.
  • Motivational skills to encourage collaborative working.

Desirable

  • Microsoft office skills.
  • Good telephone manner with ability to manage internal and external calls professionally.
