Registered Nurse – Days £21.97 per hour | Full-time, Permanent | Airdrie, ML6 7HP
We are not offering Sponsorship or Visa.
Our client operates a purpose-built Nursing Home in a residential setting in Airdrie, and is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse to cover days. Full training is provided, along with paid breaks, uniform, and 5.6 weeks of annual leave entitlement including bank holidays.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Home Manager
QUALIFICATIONS: RN with experience in caring for the relevant service user group
JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the efficient running of the home during the time he/she is the Senior on duty, and to contribute to maintaining an environment reflective of the home's philosophy of care — one that encourages resident involvement in their own care.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensure the assessment of service users' care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, are undertaken and fully documented. 2. As required, take charge of the home in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility. 3. As required, undertake on-call duties. 4. Ensure an appropriate exchange of information between all grades of staff to promote continuity of service user care. 5. Maintain full and complete nursing records. 6. Ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and home policy, reporting to the Senior Nurse as necessary. 7. Monitor the use of all resources to promote effective and efficient use appropriate to service users' needs. 8. Liaise with relevant parties to facilitate service user care and wellbeing. 9. Report any shortfalls in the provision of service user care to the person in charge/management. 10. Ensure care practices reflect NMC requirements and are regularly reviewed and developed. 11. Maintain personal contact with residents through one-to-one contact and group activities. 12. Ensure all visiting professionals are recorded. 13. Attend mandatory and in-house training as required. 14. Understand and abide by all company policies and procedures. 15. Help ensure the home is compliant with Care Standards Scotland / CQC England. 16. Help promote and market the home.
EDUCATION
- Assist with the orientation, induction and ongoing training of staff. - Contribute to the continuing development of the home through professional self-development and the promotion of evidence-based practice.
COMMUNICATION
- Attend meetings and ensure information is passed on to all staff. - Help maintain good communication with all professionals and others involved in client care and home management. - Provide professional support to all grades of staff in the home.
NIGHT DUTY: This is a wakeful duty unless otherwise notified.
