Job description

Registered Nurse & Clinical Team Leader

£30,000–£40,000 DOE + Annual Performance Bonus

Are you a Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN looking to move away from traditional ward or shift-based nursing? Use your clinical experience to lead teams, improve standards and shape community care.

We’re expanding and looking to connect with excellent candidates. We anticipate hiring by the end of January 2027, potentially sooner for the right person.

You’ll provide clinical leadership across our community care services, develop our Support Worker teams and help people with complex needs receive safe, consistent, person-centred support at home.

The role combines clinical leadership, staff development, quality assurance and hands-on involvement when your expertise is needed.

  • Use your nursing qualification to influence how care is delivered.
  • Take ownership of clinical standards, staff capability and quality.
  • Train, coach and develop Support Workers, seeing the impact in people’s homes.
  • Help shape complex care packages from assessment to ongoing delivery.
  • Work closely with an experienced Registered Manager, Care Co-ordinator and wider management team.
  • Have autonomy to make clinical decisions, challenge unsafe practice and drive improvement.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to 30,000+ national and local employee discounts across technology, food, travel and more.
  • 100+ free virtual courses and live/on-demand training.
  • Monday and Friday office breakfasts and a supportive, collaborative team.

As our Registered Nurse & Clinical Team Leader, you’ll be the day-to-day clinical lead across our care services.

You’ll oversee clinical safety and quality, assess and review service users, develop care plans and risk assessments, lead training and competency assessments, oversee medicines governance and support our care teams.

A central part of your role will be ensuring Support Workers have the skills, confidence and competence to deliver safe care.

You’ll work closely with our Care Co-ordinator / Head of Compliance, who leads operational coordination, rostering and compliance systems, and our Registered Manager, who retains overall regulatory and governance oversight.

Your time will be split flexibly between our Manchester office and community visits. Some weeks will focus more on teams and service users; others on training, clinical governance and office work.

You’ll participate in our on-call rota. Very occasionally, when the normal care team and wider bank have been exhausted, you may need to provide emergency shift cover as a last resort.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide clinical leadership across community care packages.
  • Complete clinical assessments and support the safe set-up of new packages.
  • Write and review person-centred support plans, clinical risk assessments and escalation plans.
  • Lead Support Worker training, coaching, induction and development.
  • Assess and sign off clinical competencies, deciding when staff can safely undertake delegated healthcare tasks.
  • Provide package-specific supervision and support.
  • Lead medicines governance, including medication incidents, competency assessments and audits.
  • Review clinical incidents, near misses and concerns, identify learning and embed improvements.
  • Carry out clinical spot checks and observations in people’s homes.
  • Oversee clinical equipment, delegated healthcare tasks and other clinical risks.
  • Work with families, GPs, pharmacies and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Provide clinical leadership on safeguarding, Infection Prevention & Control, consent and Mental Capacity considerations.
  • Contribute to CQC readiness, clinical audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Act on unsafe care or practice, requiring retraining or reassessment where necessary.

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN — essential.
  • Recent nursing experience relevant to complex, community or domiciliary care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, risk-management and care-planning skills.
  • Experience supporting people with complex or delegated healthcare needs.
  • Experience training, coaching, supervising or clinically supporting care staff.
  • Confidence assessing competency and deciding whether healthcare tasks can be safely delegated.
  • Good knowledge of medicines management, safeguarding, clinical risk, Infection Prevention & Control and incident management.
  • Confidence challenging poor or unsafe practice and taking appropriate action.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Confidence using digital care records, eMAR or similar systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Commitment to developing staff and improving care at home.

  • Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Team Leader or similar.
  • Experience within a CQC-regulated domiciliary or complex-care service.
  • Supporting CQC inspections or quality-improvement activity.
  • Formal teaching, competency-assessment, practice-educator or Train-the-Trainer experience.
  • Experience within an organisation rated Outstanding by the CQC.
