Job description

Placr Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to join an established, award-winning independent domiciliary care provider in Hove.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate care professional to take responsibility for an established homecare service, leading a dedicated team while ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance and operational performance.

The service currently supports approximately 75 clients, delivering 760 hours of care each week, with a team of around 40 employees across office and field-based positions.

Initially, you will oversee the existing Hove service during a period of maternity cover. However, this is a permanent opportunity, with the potential to continue managing the established service or take responsibility for a planned new branch as the organisation develops.

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operational performance of the domiciliary care service.
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures and relevant care standards.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of CareGivers and office-based staff.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, quality assurance and service delivery.
  • Ensure clients receive safe, responsive and person-centred care.
  • Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision, performance and ongoing development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Respond effectively to incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and changing care needs.
  • Monitor service performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to support operational objectives and future service development.

We are looking for an experienced and approachable Registered Manager who can combine strong regulatory knowledge with excellent leadership and people-management skills.

  • Previous Registered Manager experience within adult social care, ideally domiciliary or homecare services.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading and developing care teams.
  • A Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing care quality, operational challenges and competing priorities.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

A Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC registration would be highly desirable, particularly where combined with domiciliary care leadership experience, but is not essential.

  • Salary of £40,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • Established service with an experienced office and care team.
  • Support from a hands-on Managing Director.
  • Ongoing professional development and access to an internal care training academy.
  • Company share ownership scheme.
  • Potential longer-term progression into leadership of a new branch.
  • Supportive, values-led working environment.

The standard working hours are 09:00–17:00, with participation in a 1-in-8 weekend on-call rota.

As a Registered Manager, you will also hold overall accountability for the service, which may occasionally require attention outside normal working hours.

If you are an experienced Registered Manager looking for a permanent opportunity where you can make a genuine difference, lead a committed team and contribute to the development of a growing homecare provider, we would love to hear from you.
