We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a newly refurbished children's home supporting neurodivergent children and young people.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a home that has already been set up for success. The organisation has completed the groundwork, including the Statement of Purpose, policies, procedures, and operational framework, allowing the successful candidate to focus on securing registration, shaping the culture, building a strong team, and delivering exceptional outcomes for young people.
Your key responsibilities will include submitting the SC2 application, supporting the final stages of the registration process, managing referrals, developing local authority relationships, and ensuring the home is fully fit for purpose ahead of opening.
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing or leading staff within an Ofsted-registered children's home within the last 5 years
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with neurodivergent children and young people
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare and/or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Experience managing referrals and assessing the suitability of placements for young people
- Proven ability to manage complex safeguarding concerns and lead effective safeguarding practices
- Experience building and maintaining strong networks with neighbouring local authorities and partner agencies
- Thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and relevant legislation
- A track record of ensuring homes meet and maintain the standards required by Ofsted
- Salary of up to £75,000 per annum
- Performance-related bonuses
- Comprehensive additional benefits package
- A rare opportunity to lead a brand-new, fully refurbished home
- The chance to shape the service from day one without having to create policies and procedures from scratch
- Strong organisational support throughout the registration and opening process
- The autonomy to build a high-performing team and create a culture of excellence
If you're an ambitious leader looking for the excitement of launching a new service and making a genuine difference to the lives of neurodivergent children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.
