Job description

Job Purpose: The registered manager will lead and manage the existing Nursing Agency while having a key role in developing, registering and growing a new care a home service in Glasgow. The registered manager will ensure the Nursing Agency continues to operate safely in line with Care Inspectorate, SSSC, NMC and Health and Social Care Standards requirements. The registered manager will work closely with the director and existing team to establish policies, staffing structure and quality assurance processes required for a regulated care at home service.

This is a leadership role requiring management experience, regulatory knowledge and the ability to support the company through registering, developing and delivering a quality Care at Home and Nursing Agency service.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the company • Ensure agency nurses are safely recruited, trained, supervised and matched with appropriate work opportunities • Build and maintain effective relationships with care providers, service users and referral partners • Monitor quality, incidents, complaints and service performance – ensuring robust quality assurance processes are in place • Ensure service is always inspection ready – leading the office team on best practice • Ensure compliance with NMC, Care Inspectorate, SSSC, Legislation and Health and Social Care Standards • Ensure all staff are safely recruited including registration checks, PVG checks, right to work checks and competency assessments • Lead the development of the new Care at Home Service • Support the Care Inspectorate registration process for Care at Home Service • Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems for a quality Care at Home Service • Establish assessment, care planning and risk management processes for new care at home service • Organise and take part in on-call rota
  • Work with directors and wider team to plan service growth
  • Submit required notifications, reports and regulatory information within required timescales to Care Inspectorate, SSSC and NMC
  • Carry out audits, spot checks and care reviews • Lead investigations of complaints, incidents, safeguarding concerns and near misses • Prepare the organisation for Care Inspectorate inspections • Ensure Nurses maintain NMC Registration and revalidation requirements. • Assist with tenders and framework applications • Lead supervisions and appraisals of office, care and nursing staff teams

  • NMC Registered Nurse , or alternative qualification accepted by Care Inspectorate registration at manager level • Experience managing regulated health and social care services • Working knowledge of Care Inspectorate requirements for regulated services • Leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Experience developing a new regulated service (Desirable)
  • Understanding and experience of adult protection and safeguarding
  • Tendering experience (desirable) • Management qualification at SCQF Level 9 or above • Experience developing and leading quality assurance processes
