Registered Home Manager – Newly Acquired Residential Service

Bright Selection are delighted to be supporting a brand-new care provider in recruiting an experienced Registered Home Manager to lead a newly acquired residential service supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated needs in Hampshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a service at an important stage in its development. You will play a key role in strengthening the staff team, establishing effective systems and embedding a positive culture focused on safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

The role would suit a proactive and compassionate leader who enjoys developing services, supporting staff and promoting independence, dignity and positive outcomes for the people they support.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent relevant management qualification, or willingness to complete this within an agreed timescale.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a comparable adult social care management role.
  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities within a residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and relevant legislation.
  • Experience with care planning, risk assessments, medication management, quality audits and service improvement.
  • Experience leading, supervising and developing staff teams, including managing performance and staffing levels.
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support (PBS), autism and least-restrictive practice.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CQC registration as the Registered Manager.

  • Lead the day-to-day management and ongoing development of the service.
  • Provide visible, compassionate leadership and build a motivated, high-performing staff team.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, legislation and company policies, including preparation for CQC assessments and completion of statutory notifications.
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice, inclusion and positive outcomes for residents.
  • Oversee care plans, health action plans, communication profiles, risk assessments, medication management and safeguarding procedures.
  • Lead quality audits, manage incidents and complaints, and drive continuous service improvement.
  • Manage recruitment, induction, training, supervision, staff performance, rotas and workforce requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with residents, families, advocates, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee admissions, pre-admission assessments and transitions, ensuring individual needs can be safely met.
  • Manage service budgets, staffing levels, agency expenditure and operational resources effectively.
  • Ensure the premises remain safe, clean, comfortable and well maintained.
  • Maintain health and safety standards and participate in the management on-call rota.

You will be a compassionate, confident and proactive leader with a strong understanding of learning disability services and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of a service, developing staff teams and driving improvements while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.

Knowledge of supporting autistic people and individuals with complex communication, health or behavioural needs would be beneficial. You will also understand the importance of the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, positive behaviour support and least-restrictive practice.

  • £46,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a newly acquired residential service
