As a registered children's nurse, with post preceptorship experience in the UK, you will support the Fracture clinic team in all areas of the adult clinic - including the trauma clinics, elective clinics, plaster rooms and virtual fracture clinic. Providing a high standard of care to children, young persons and adults.
Support the plaster technicians in the adult & children's plaster rooms and in delivering the plaster room outreach service across the inpatient areas. Develop your skills in various plastering techniques and attend the British Orthopaedic Casting Course to achieve the British Casting Certificate qualification.
Act as point of contact for any concerns relating to paediatric patients in the adult environment e.g. medication, safeguarding, wound management and treatments.
Work with the team using UHCWi methodology to continuously improve the services provided.
Take responsibility for the co-ordination of shifts - communicating with patients, carers, staff and the wider multidisciplinary team on the day to ensure the smooth running of clinics and patient pathways.

Qualifications
Essential
- Current Professional Children's Registration (NMC)
- RCSN Qualification
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Completion of Preceptorship in UK
- Willingness to complete British casting Certificate
Desirable
- First level degree or willingness to undertake
- Teaching and Assessing qualification willingness to complete.
- Trauma & Orthopaedic Qualification or willingness to complete.
Experience
Essential
- Post-registration experience in paediatric or acute care
- Experience working in fast-paced clinical environments
- Post-preceptorship experience
Desirable
- Previous Outpatient experience
- Previous Trauma & Orthopaedic experience
Knowledge

- To undertake floor control responsibilities, Carry the bleep and complete regular rounding of the area to ensure Health and safety, skill mix and daily checks are completed. Escalate any concerns.
- Responsible for auditing, such as pharmacy stock, ICNA
- Medicine management and responsibility as key holders
- Oversight of Ambulance and stretcher patients ensuring safe care.
- Supervising/Teaching / assessing students
Desirable
- Have a confident approach and the ability to inspire confidence
- Willing to complete all specialised competencies
- Experience of application of plaster casts, braces, splint to treat various Trauma & Orthopaedic injuries
- Experience of triaging patient
- Canulation and Venepuncture
- Manage PDR for HCSW.
- Manage complaints, de- escalate issues and refer to PALS: complete Datix reporting.
