Receptionist
role involves assisting patients face-to-face, by phone and online; and to liaise with
hospital departments, interpreter services, transport services etc.
Administrative role involves
processing messages by phone, fax and email; processing repeat prescription
requests; data entry onto computers; contacting patients to arrange special
appointments etc
POST No. 1 of 2
25 hours/week
spread over Monday to Friday plus plenty of overtime opportunities
Working hours : -
Monday 12:30 to 18:00
Tuesday: 08:30 to 13:30
Wednesday: 12:30 to 17:30
Thursday: 08:00 to 13:30
Friday: 13:30 to 17:30

Training provided
We are a training practice for GP registrars, clinical pharmacists etc. Our premises consist of a spacious and quite modern health centre. 7,500 patients are registered with our practice, and there is a diverse mixture of ethnic minorities. We have 4 doctors and trainees. Our clinical software is EMIS Web (now called Optum)
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work well with other team members.
- Enthusiastic about providing a high quality service.
- Basic IT skills
Experience
Essential
- Experience of assisting/serving the general public in a work environment.
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
