Applicant will need to work both on a busy reception desk dealing with patients over the telephone and face-to-face, booking triage appointments using...

  • Opening up/locking up of the practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Opening post and stamping with date received.
  • Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
  • Ensuring incoming stock (boxes) are stored away in a safe manner and are not hazardous to building users.
  • Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts, and add to patients journal that a fee has been paid and what for.
  • All receptionist must be able to access the admin email account, which needs to be monitored from when admin staff have left for the day.
  • All visitors to the practice must sign in and out. (not patients)
  • Book appointments and recalls ensuring sufficient information is recorded to retrieve medical record.
  • Monitoring DNAs and sending DNA SMS Text message as per practice policy.
  • Monitor effectiveness of the system and report any problems or variations required.

Pickhurst

Surgery is based in Bromley, Hayes. We have a growing list size of approx. 8,700

patients and are part of the Hayeswick Primary Care Network. We have an extended clinical team, which

includes Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Practitioners, a Mental Health

Practitioner, working alongside the GPs (3 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs) and a Nursing team, supported by the Practice Manager

and the Admin team. The Practice advocates a friendly and positive working

environment and we are looking for an equally friendly, motivated and versatile

individual to join our team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably primary care Experience of using EMIS clinical system

Experience

  • Experience of working within a team and working with the general public

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably primary care Experience of using EMIS clinical system, eConsult traige and Accurx systems
  • Experience of using Docman
