This is a varied administrative and patient-facing role supporting the day-to-day running of a busy GP Practice. A key focus will be processing patient registrations, maintaining accurate patient information and completing a range of administrative tasks.
You will also communicate regularly with patients by telephone, email and face-to-face, respond to enquiries and provide reception support when required. The role involves using a number of computer systems, so you will need to be confident with IT, well organised and accurate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
We are looking for someone who is professional, approachable and able to manage a varied workload while providing a high standard of service to our patients and Practice team.
Provide a welcoming, professional and helpful reception service to patients and visitors.
Respond to patient enquiries face-to-face, by telephone and electronically, directing them appropriately.
Book, amend and cancel appointments and process home visit requests.
Register new patients and maintain accurate patient information on clinical systems.
Process incoming correspondence, scanning and filing documents accurately onto patient records.
Undertake general administrative duties including data entry, document processing, email, filing and correspondence.
Communicate with patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals and organisations.
Support patients to access appropriate practice and wider healthcare services.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with practice procedures and information governance requirements.
Work flexibly as part of the wider practice team, providing cover and support where required.
Complete mandatory training and follow practice policies relating to confidentiality, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, equality and health and safety.

Qualifications
Essential: - GCSE English and Maths at grades 93 (or equivalent).
Desirable: - NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration, Customer Service or equivalent.
Experience
Essential: - Experience of working in administration, reception or customer service.; - Experience of using computerised systems and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Desirable: - Previous experience working as a GP Receptionist/Administrator.; - Experience of using EMIS and/or other primary care clinical systems.
