Your key role will be to help patients at the
reception desk and promptly answer the telephone, booking appointments, dealing
with queries and taking clear messages for other colleagues working at the
Practice. You will also be responsible for a number of administrative duties.
We are looking for someone who enjoys dealing with
people and has excellent verbal and written communication. You should be calm
under pressure and have a caring and sympathetic nature.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
b.Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c.Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d.Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
e.Signpost patients to the correct service
f.Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
g.Clinically code data on EMIS
h.Process GP download documents
i.Process repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently
j.Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary
k.Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records
l.Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
m.Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary
n.Work through the task list to ensure they are dealt with in a timely fashion
o.Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
p.Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
q.Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
r.Understand and maintain appropriate infection control procedures
s.Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
t.Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
u.Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting room
Victoria and Mapperley Practice, Nottingham.
We are a busy but friendly GP practice that
operates across 2 sites in Nottingham. One site is based near to the Victoria
shopping centre and the other site is on the main high street in Mapperley.
We have a fantastic, supportive team of reception
staff, administrators, GPs and nurses who work across both sites, caring for
patients in parts of the city centre, the Woodborough road area and Mapperley.

Essential
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
