We require an organised and flexible individual to support reception duties within the Elective hub at the Royal Derby Hospital. This is a part time r...

  • You should have the ability to interact with patients and staff on a daily basis in an efficient and friendly way and stay calm in any situation.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the correct information is recorded using a variety of IT systems, whilst dealing with a variety of queries.
  • You must be motivated, have good communication, inter-personal and administration skills
  • Maintaining a warm and welcoming reception area for patients.
  • Using your initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and think on your feet.
  • Ability to use multiple computer systems.
  • Liaising with patients, relatives and wider teams via telephone, email and face to face.
  • Maintaining patient records, filing and scanning notes.

Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements

Essential

  • GCSE English or equivalent
  • Standard level of IT literacy

Desirable

  • NVQ II in Customer Service or equivalent knowledge and skills

Experience

Essential

  • To be able to demonstrate previous administration experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working with the public - customer care
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the waiting list procedures in accordance with the local and national targets and the Trust Patient access policy
  • To able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a customer facing role

Skills and Ability

Essential

  • To be able to demonstrate good organisational skills
  • To be able to demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines
