- Answer telephone queries from patients, GPs, other hospitals, and departments within the hospital.
- Redirect calls to the relevant person or take accurate messages as appropriate.
- Send text messages to patients regarding appointments and cancellations.
- Contact patients at short notice when appointment lists need to be cancelled.
- Assist the team with general administrative duties as required.
- Book patients and maintain accurate records using the in-house Radiology Information System (RIS) and local Patient Administration System (PAS).
- Register new patients on the local PAS and RIS systems as required.
- Check and update patient demographic details on PACS, RIS, and HIS systems at every attendance.
- Ensure patient records remain accurate and up to date.
- Escort or direct patients from the main waiting area to designated sub-waiting areas within the department or hospital.
- Attend to patients' needs whilst they are in the waiting areas.
- Provide a professional, courteous, and patient-centred service at all times.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the department.
- Provide cover during the absence of other reception staff within the department.
