We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to join our friendly Reception team. The main purpose of a...
- To deliver a quality service, dealing directly with patients, relatives, and carers either face to face or via telephone.
- Reception responsibilities include general enquiries, booking and cancelling of appointments, making sure patient details are up to date and correct, copying and scanning of documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Efficiently deal with patients and clinicians requests in line with practice policy.
- Assist patients in the completion of our total triage form ensuring relevant information is relayed clearly.

We have four site and over 46,000 patients across the city of Derby.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to GCSE including English or equivalent
Desirable
- NVQ level 2 in a customer service or similar customer service qualification
Experience
Essential
- 1 years experience in a customer service/reception environment
Desirable
- Previous experience of team work
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of using SystmOne (or similar)
Personal Qualities
Essential
- Proven ability to liaise appropriately with members of staff at all levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to cope well under pressure
Skills
Essential
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to use email/internet.
- Good communication skills, both face to face and on the telephone including the ability to deal appropriately with difficult communication situations
- Good interpersonal/organisational skills
- Knowledge of operation of office equipment (photocopying essential, scanning desirable)
- Ability to file accurately
- Ability to translate information and details accurately both verbally and written
- Understanding, acceptance, and adherence to a strict code of confidentiality
- Confidence to use your own judgement, based on resourcefulness and local knowledge in response to patient queries
