The Receptionist/Assistant Clinic Coordinator is responsible for delivering a high standard of administrative and customer service support to paediatric patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team across paediatric services.
The post holder must play a proactive role in collecting, investigating, verifying and recording a high standard of patient demographic and treatment data. The post holder must accurately and in a timely manner enter such information on the Trust's patient administration systems to ensure data quality, support service delivery and maintain compliance with national NHS targets and Trust standards.
The post holder must undertake effective forward planning to ensure the administrative needs of the service are met and carry out a range of effective administrative processes to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The post holder will work as part of the wider Paediatric Administration Team and will be expected to provide flexible cross-cover across paediatric services at Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital, including support to Galaxy Ward and Galaxy Outpatients Reception, to maintain service continuity and operational resilience during periods of annual leave, sickness absence and increased service demand.
The post holder will be responsible for managing and prioritising their own workload and working independently to meet the operational requirements of the service.

Education & professional Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Previous work experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience of working in a public/patient facing role
Desirable
- Experience of working with Cerner, or similar electronic Patient Administration Systems
Skills and aptitudes
Essential
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and problem solve, in a busy clinical environment
- Good level of computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and databases
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
