Radiology Assistant working within the ultrasound departments at University Hospital Coventry, Hospital of St Cross and City of Coventry Health Centre...

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable and highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team at our University Hospital Coventry Hospital of St Cross sites, as a Band 2 Assistant.

Shift pattern over a 7-day week (Sun-Sat).

You will be part of a large clinical team, on numerous sites, providing support to a variety of staff groups including Consultants, Nurses and Sonographers within the General Ultrasound Department. Duties involve assisting with patient care before, during and after imaging examinations, coordinating the movement of inpatients with porters, cleaning of scan rooms and stock control.

It is essential the successful candidate enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in patient care. You must have excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team, but also have the ability to use your initiative and work individually.

Qualification / Training

Essential: - oNumerate and literate. oNVQ Level 2 in care or working towards oEvidence of significant patient care

Desirable: - oWillingness to undertake NVQ level 3

Experience

Essential: - oAbility to manage own environment within recognised limitations

Desirable: - oExperience in patient care

Knowledge

Essential: - oAppreciation of patient pathways, and delivery of care

Desirable: - oAn understanding of current issues relating to the NHS

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Basic IT skills

  • A good level of fitness for example able to work on your feet all day.
