We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individuals to join our multidisciplinary team of staff in one of our large X-ray department...
The role involves a wide range of duties, including patient care, assisting staff performing radiological procedures, portering and clerical work, which are all required to provide an efficient imaging service.
The successful candidate will require good communication and organisational skills, and be expected to work to agreed protocols and standards.
As a Radiographic Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality imaging service across the Radiology Department. Working closely with radiographers and other healthcare professionals, you will help ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and efficient care throughout their visit.
- Assisting radiographers with a wide range of imaging activities, including patient preparation, positioning and support during examinations.
- Escorting patients to and from wards, departments and waiting areas, ensuring their comfort, dignity and safety at all times.
- Providing reassurance and support to patients, relatives and carers, including those who may be anxious, distressed or have additional communication needs.
- Preparing clinical areas and equipment for examinations, maintaining a clean, organised and safe environment.
- Supporting infection prevention and control practices and adhering to all Trust policies, procedures and radiation protection requirements.
- Using Radiology information systems to access patient information, maintain accurate records and support departmental administration activities.
- Assisting with reception and clerical duties when required, including greeting patients, booking examinations, printing worklists and responding to enquiries.
- Monitoring and replenishing departmental stock and reporting equipment faults or maintenance issues.
- Working flexibly across a range of imaging areas and sites as required, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Contributing positively as a member of the wider Radiology team and supporting service improvements.
This role involves regular movement of patients, equipment and stock, and requires the ability to work in a busy environment whilst maintaining excellent standards of patient care and communication
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
