- National Certificate of the Examination Board for Dental Nurse or Certificate of Proficiency recognized by the Association of Dental Hospitals of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or a qualification approved by the Secretary of State as being equivalent to one of the above
- Current registration with the General Dental Council
- The ability to meet the transport requirements of this post to travel independently between sites
To provide administrative, routine chairside and general anaesthetic assistance for dental clinicians.
To be responsible (under the supervision of the dentist) for preparing premises and equipment for treatment and screening sessions and domiciliary care.
To provide clinical support for the dentist during screening survey and clinical sessions, including some general anaesthetic lists, support for the community orthodontic specialist and domiciliary dental care.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

Qualifications / Professional Registration
Essential
- National Certificate of the examination Board for Dental Nursing or Certificate of proficiency recognised by the Association of Dental Hospitals of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or a qualification approved by the secretary of state as being equivalent to one of the above
- Current registration with the General Dental Council is required
Desirable: - Special needs dental nursing qualification; - Dental Nurse Sedation Qualification

- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role
- Current registration with the General Dental Council and up to date CPD evidence
Experience and knowledge
Essential: - Significant post qualification experience
Desirable
- Experience of assisting at general anaesthetic sessions
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
- Experience of working with special needs patients
- Experience of working in community
